Or extract from a website URL

We try the site's own /favicon.ico first. If that fails, we fall back to Google's favicon service — only the domain you typed is sent (never your uploaded files).

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the complete package ZIP contain?

A multi-layer favicon.ico (16/32/48), PNG icons at every size you select, apple-touch-icon.png at 180×180, android-chrome-192x192.png and android-chrome-512x512.png for PWAs, a site.webmanifest, and a README.txt with the HTML snippet ready to paste into your <head>.

Can I generate a favicon from an existing website URL?

Yes. Paste any website URL and the tool fetches that site's current favicon so you can re-export it at every size. Useful for brand audits, migrations, or rebuilding a favicon you only have on a live site.

What sizes should I include for best compatibility?

Essentials are 16, 32, 48 (browsers and favicon.ico) and 180 (Apple Touch icon). Add 192 and 512 for PWA/Android home-screen icons. The "Essentials" button selects this set for you; "All" enables every size.

My logo has transparency — will it still look right?

Yes. Transparent is the default background. If your logo renders poorly on certain browsers or dark taskbars, switch Background to White, Dark, or a custom color in the Advanced panel to flatten the transparency before export.

Does the tool handle non-square images?

Non-square images are center-letterboxed inside a square canvas so no content is cropped. Add padding in the Advanced panel if you want extra breathing room around the logo.

What are padding and border radius for?

Padding adds inner spacing so a dense logo doesn't touch the edges. Border radius rounds the favicon corners up to a full circle (50%) — handy when your favicon is displayed inside dock-style rounded tiles.
